Helichrysum Italicum oil

Leading Bulgarian Helichrysum Essential Oil Manufacturer & Wholesaler

AromaOilent is one of the top essential oil producers and wholesalers in Bulgaria. We export superior quality helichrysum in bulk to customers around the world.
One of the more versatile essential oils, helichrysum is in great demand by a wide range of industries. However, it is also among the most expensive of all essential oils because of its unusually low yield. Steam distilling approximately 750 kg of helichrysum flowers yields only one liter of essential oil. This can make it unaffordable for smaller businesses. At AromaOilent, we are committed to helping our customers overcome this hurdle by supplying wholesale essential oil quantities at highly competitive rates.
History of Helichrysum Essential Oil

Early records indicate that Helichrysum has been used since ancient times for several different purposes from healing wounds and treating snake bites to alleviating coughs, colds, headaches, colic and fevers.
The ancient Greeks and Romans were particularly enamored by the oil’s powerful benefits for the skin and used it extensively in various skincare preparations. They also used garlands of fresh or dried helichrysum flowers to decorate places of worship and adorn funerary rituals.
The name ‘helichrysum’ is derived from the Greek words helios, which means sun and chrysos, which means gold. This refers to the bright golden color of the flowers.

Growing, Harvesting, & Extraction

Helichrysum grows abundantly around Dobruja Valley with its sunny climate and dry soil. The oil is obtained by steam distilling the plant’s golden flowers.
The ideal time for harvesting the helichrysum flowers is during the months of July-August when the flowers contain the highest amounts of the Neryl acetate, which is the therapeutically active constituent in the flower.
It requires a high level of skill, efficiency and coordination to make sure that the distillation process is completed within 24 hours of gathering the flowers in order to obtain the highest yield of high quality essential oil. The flowers start to ferment if there’s too much time between picking and processing.
